Training: What to Expect During Your CDL Training
Your CDL training at Transport Tech can be customized based on the job you plan to obtain. If you do not have a job lined up yet before you enter training, then the typical time frame will be six weeks. Your first three weeks will be spent in the classroom as well as hands-on training. You will be preparing to take and pass your General Knowledge and Air Brake Exams for your CDL Permit along with additional endorsements such as Hazardous Materials, Doubles & Triples, & Tankers. After obtaining your permit, you will then spend the next three weeks learning road skills and actually spending time on the road. Most National Employers require a minimum of 160 hours of verifiable training by an approved CDL Training School prior to beginning employment with their company.
