First and foremost, please make sure that the truck is in good working condition with a current inspection sticker. All of the lights must work properly and there should be no air leaks. If you are bringing a trailer for your Class A Test, it should meet the same requirements as the truck. You will need to bring a Valid Registration Card for each piece of equipment you plan to use for the test as well as Proof of Insurance

Your Examiner will have their PennDot Examiner Certificate displayed at the Exam Location and will carry a Certificate on their person during your Exam.

I work during the day, can I take my CDL Exam in the evening?

Yes. Our scheduled appointment times are based on availability as well as your convenience. We are subject to only administering a CDL Exam only when their is daylight, so as long as there will be enough daylight to complete the entire exam, we can help you. Additionally, the Exam Schedule is open to Saturdays as well as Sundays to accommodate our customers who are currently working.

If I pass my Skills/Road Test, where do I pick up my CDL Hardcopy?

Each of our PennDot Certified Testing Locations is assigned a Drivers License Center where all of your testing results are reported and your New CDL License will be issued. We can also mail your results to Harrisburg, PA where your testing results will be recorded and your CDL Hardcopy will be mailed to you. This process can take 7-14 business days to receive your hardcopy from Harrisburg if you choose to go this route.

What happens if I fail my Skills/Road Test?

No worries. It happens everyday to even the most skilled drivers. If you fail any section of the Pre-Trip/Skills/Road Test, you can simply re-test on the sections that you did not successfully pass. For example, you pass the Backing & Road portions of the test but fail the Pre-Trip Inspection. Your next step will be to reschedule the Pre-Trip portion of the exam and try it again. Fees to re-test on a failed section of the Skills/Road Exam are prorated.

Does Transport Tech give the written test for the CDL Permit?
